Meet our Leesburg Therapists
Heather Rainey, LICSW
Heather is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Virginia and West Virginia. She received her Masters in Clinical Social Work from George Mason University and has over 9 years experience as an individual and group therapist working with populations from adolescents to adults. Heather has experience working in different settings that include a correctional facility for adults as well as a public school concentrating at the middle and high school levels. Heather has focused her research and education on working with the LGBTQ+ community, including navigating gender identity and sexual orientation. She is well versed in working with the family members of those with substance abuse issues. In addition, Heather has experience treating those with trauma, anxiety and depression. Heather is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) which is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
Heather offers virtual as well as in-person sessions at our office in Leesburg, VA.

Sara Sherrick, MA, LPC
Sara is a Licensed Professional Counselor, having received her Masters in Community Counseling from Marymount University. Sara has over twenty years of experience providing community mental health services to children, adolescents, adults and families. Sara presently works for a local school district at the high school level providing substance abuse education as well as mental health and substance abuse short term interventions. Over the course of her career, Sara has provided individual and group therapy to children, adolescents and adults in a multitude of settings from residential treatment to private practice. She also spent half of her career to date in emergency mental health treatment working both within a private hospital emergency room as well as providing overnight coverage for Loudoun County CSB mental health emergency evaluations. Sara works from a cognitive behavioral treatment as well as solution-focused treatment perspective.
